The day dawns bright
I see the heavens ring out in faith
Sing out in joy
A new day - and yet so old
So familiar - and yet so bold
The face I see yonder – those same eyes
The same brush of hair from the forehead...
All the same
But what then is new, behind this ochre facade?
I glimpse a tear
A “holding – dear”
An urge to be near,
A nagging fear
And yet I hear
The tinkle of fate
Telling me to wait
For sovereigns young and old
For hearts as pure as gold
For friends like they always do
Let my day remain this true.
I find happiness in you.
